Warranty Policy
Effective Date: 10 September 2026
At Appliance Factory Outlet, we stand behind the quality of every product we sell. Each refurbished unit is individually tested before dispatch, and all products are backed by the warranty coverage outlined below.
1. Warranty Coverage by Product Type
Refurbished Microwaves: 12-month limited warranty from the date of delivery, covering defects in materials or workmanship under normal use. Includes repair, replacement, or refund at our discretion.
New Air Fryers: 12-month manufacturer warranty from the date of purchase. Warranty is provided by the original manufacturer and claims may be referred to the manufacturer at our discretion. Under the Australian Consumer Law, guarantees may extend beyond this period based on what is reasonable for the product and price paid.
New Food Storage & Lunch Boxes: 12-month warranty from the date of purchase, covering manufacturing defects. Does not cover damage from misuse, dishwasher damage, or normal wear.
New Laptops: 12-month manufacturer warranty from the date of purchase. Warranty is provided by the original manufacturer and covers hardware defects. Does not cover software issues, viruses, data loss, or accidental damage.
Refurbished Laptops: 3-month limited warranty from the date of delivery, covering hardware defects under normal use. Does not cover software issues, data loss, battery degradation, or cosmetic wear.
New Espresso Machines: 12-month manufacturer warranty from the date of purchase. Warranty is provided by the original manufacturer and claims may be referred to the manufacturer at our discretion.
New Spare Parts: 12-month warranty from the date of purchase, covering defects in materials or workmanship. Warranty is limited to replacement of the faulty part. Labour costs for installation are not covered. The manufacturer’s warranty overrides any warranty given or implied by Appliance Factory Outlet where applicable.
Note: For new products with manufacturer warranties, the manufacturer’s warranty terms take precedence. Appliance Factory Outlet will assist with warranty claims but may refer you to the manufacturer for direct resolution. Under the Australian Consumer Law, consumer guarantees may extend beyond the stated warranty period based on what is reasonable for the product type, price, and circumstances of purchase.
2. What Is Covered
- Defective parts or components that affect functionality.
- Repairs or replacement of faulty units within the warranty period.
- Manufacturing defects in new products covered by manufacturer warranty.
3. What Is Not Covered
- Cosmetic damage including scratches, dents, scuffs, or discolouration that does not affect functionality.
- Damage caused by misuse or neglect, including but not limited to: arcing from metal objects placed inside the microwave, running the unit empty, use of non-microwave-safe containers, improper cleaning, or failure to descale steam systems.
- Scorch marks, burn marks, or carbon staining on interior cavity surfaces or floor plates, as these indicate misuse (arcing, overheating, or burnt-on food/grease) rather than a manufacturing defect.
- Surface rust or staining resulting from condensation or moisture left uncleaned for extended periods.
- Damage caused by improper installation, electrical surges, lightning, or power fluctuations.
- Normal wear and tear, accidental damage, or damage caused during transit (transit damage is handled under our Shipping & Returns Policy).
- Software issues, viruses, data loss, or accidental damage on laptops.
- Missing accessories (cookbooks, reference guides, stickers) not explicitly listed in the original product description.
- Products that have been modified, tampered with, or repaired by unauthorised persons.
4. Steam & Combi Microwave Models
For steam and combination microwave models, condensation inside the cavity during or after steam cooking is normal and expected. This is not a defect and is not covered under warranty. The steam system injects water vapour into the cavity, which condenses on cooler surfaces – similar to a bathroom mirror during a shower.
Steam microwaves require regular cleaning and descaling of the steam drain and cavity to prevent mineral buildup and surface staining. Failure to perform this standard maintenance is not covered under warranty.
5. Warranty Options
If your product becomes faulty within the warranty period due to a covered defect, you have the following options:
- Replacement: Receive a refurbished or new replacement of the same model (subject to availability).
- Product of Equal Value: Replace the faulty unit with another product of equal value.
- Repair and Test: We will repair the product, test it for functionality, and return it to you.
- Refund: If the product cannot be repaired or replaced, a full refund will be provided.
If a product is faulty a second time after being repaired under warranty, you may choose to receive a full refund or a replacement.
6. Electrical Component Change-Over Warranty
Electrical components (including but not limited to circuit boards, magnetrons, and power modules) are covered by a change-over warranty:
- If the component is confirmed faulty within the warranty period, we will replace it with the same or equivalent part.
- The faulty component must be returned to us for assessment.
- Replacement may be new or refurbished, at our discretion.
- Labour costs for installation are not covered.
- Electrical components must be installed by a qualified person. A certificate of compliance or installer invoice may be required for warranty claims on installed components.
7. Warranty Claim Process
To file a warranty claim, please contact our customer support team at [email protected] with the following details:
- Order number or invoice number.
- Serial number of the product. For microwaves, this is located on the right side when opening the door, or on the back of the unit. The serial number is also printed on the shipping box.
- Detailed description of the issue, including when it first occurred.
- Photos or video of the fault, if applicable.
We will provide instructions for returning the product or arranging an inspection. Repairs are typically completed within 7-14 business days.
8. Serial Number Verification
All warranty claims and returns for serialized products are subject to serial number verification. The serial number of the returned unit must match the serial number recorded at the time of dispatch. Units that do not match will not be eligible for warranty service or refund.
The serial number can be found on the right side when opening the microwave door, on the back of the unit, or printed on the shipping box. Please record this number when your order arrives.
9. Warranty Transferability
This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser of the product from Appliance Factory Outlet or its authorised eBay store.
10. Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
The benefits under this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies available to you under the Australian Consumer Law.
